Wolves at the Gate (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight, Volume 3)

Vampires that, at will, can transform into wolves, panthers, insects, or fog invade the Slayer base of operations in northern Scotland, and not only walk away unscathed, but in possession of Buffy’s scythe, the symbol of Slayer power worldwide. Buffy and the Slayer-legion travel to Tokyo in order to learn more about their dangerous new foes, as Xander journeys to Transylvania to solicit the only person they’ve ever known to possess such power - Dracula!

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Best in Buffy Season 8 So Far!!!
OK, so I’m a fanboy, but seriously this is the reason why its worth investing in the first two volumes of this series. Whedon really starts packing in the emotional punches here and how can you not love the return of Dracula in such a spectacularly cool way? Take the time to read this series and you will have fun, I promise. Now if only they could make that Buffy movie a reality…

4 Stars More Vampires at the Gate
This book brought back Dracula which was great. I’m not sure about the new love interest for Buffy. It seems that the men writing this may just be living out they’re own fantasies.

5 Stars BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON 8, VOLUME 3: WOLVES AT THE GATE BY JOSS WHEDON, ET. AL
The latest collected volume of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 features a single issue scripted by Joss Whedon, as Buffy comes to a startling realization with her personal life that mixes with her job as the lead slayer over all the Chosen. The development continues in the Wolves at the Gate series as an attack is made on the Chosen base in Scotland by a horde of vampires that can turn into wolves, fog, and even a swarm of bees. Enlisting the help of a very old and forgotten friend who is a natural wealth of information on the events at hand, Buffy travels to Japan with her powerful army to find out who or what is behind the group of Goth Japanese vampires who have these incredible powers.

Wolves at the Gate continues Buffy’s adventures in classic fashion, with all the main characters, leaving the reader impatiently waiting for the next collection, as well as to some possible answers to why Buffy is doing what she is doing, and what’s behind it all. Clearly the writers have a master plan building that will hopefully see more light in the next trade coming in May.

5 Stars Continuing a great story
Wolves at the Gate is, so far, my favorite of the season 8 comics. It continues the season 8 arc cleverly, but still buffy-verse believable.

If you like the show or the other comics then I think you will like Wolves at the Gate.

5 Stars Buffy Graphic Novel S8 B3
I love Buffy, and this series of graphic novels is a perfect continuation of the buffyverse. The storylines are consistently excellent, witty and verbose, and the delivery of my order was on time and well monitored. At all times I knew where and when it was arriving. Superb.
