Comic Legends Groucho Marx and Redd Foxx
Comic Legends Groucho Marx and Redd Foxx
Two Legends In One Laugh-Filled Collection
Comic greats REDD FOXX and GROUCHO MARX headline this hilarious double bill of old school style stand-up comedy, performed live in front of a studio audience.
Taped shortly before he became the star of the hit TV series Sanford & Son, Redd Foxx chain smokes as he ribs a mixed audience with a politically incorrect routine of jokes about poverty, race relations, slavery, the Vietnam War, women and dwarves.
Sporting his trademark cigar and deadpan delivery, Groucho Marx interviews members of the audience and answers questions pitched by announcer Ed Jordan about his long comic career as one-third of the manic Marx Brothers, stars of such classic films as Duck Soup and A Night At The Opera.
Gone but not forgotten, Redd Foxx and Groucho Marx live and laugh again in these vintage performances of two true comedic giants.
User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Two episodes of the TV show “One Man Show” packaged together
This DVD is two episodes of TV show called “One Man Show.”
The show seems to be early 1970s or late 1960s.
Foxx (shown pre-Sanford and Son) does some great material on many subjects (including race.) Pretty G rated stuff, which is fun to see from a notoriously raunchy comic.
Groucho doesn’t really inspire lots of laughs during a monolouge about his daily routine, but is rather funny as he takes questions from the audience.
Each episode is about 30 minutes long.
The DVD also has about 10 minutes of footage of a much younger Marx on the TV show Hollywood Palace.
5 Stars very cool and rare
two great legends doing there thing in a seperate spots of routines. Groucho Marx taking Q&A and doing a little routine. the Great Redd Foxx again showcasing his Genius and keeping it real G rated and the versatility that he has always displayed. classic.
